he Knights of Columbus, in order to maintain a fraternity, have to be together. Aside from special activities, we gather for a monthly meeting and for a monthly dinner social.

MEETINGS

Meetings are held the second Wednesday of every month at the Star of the Sea Parish Hall in Santa Cruz. They begin at 7:30 p.m. sharp and usually run for 1-1/2 hours (sometimes two hours), followed by munchies, if you want to hang out. You have to be a card-carrying member of the Knights to attend the meetings. During Lent these meetings are typically changed to Tuesday nights due to an annual schedule conflict in the Hall.

SOCIALS

We sponsor a social every month which is open to the public, usually the fourth Wednesday of every month at the Star of the Sea Parish Hall. This will sometimes change if it conflicts with a holiday, or some event at the hall. Priests and widows of deceased members eat at no charge. Socials are announced in the monthly bulletin, and carry various themes: Italian, Filipino, Mexican, etc. Sometimes the dinners benefit specific charities. During Lent the socials are usually changed from Wednesday nights due to a schedule conflict in the Hall.

DIRECTIONS TO STAR OF THE SEA PARISH HALL

The easiest directions: Take Highway 1. Take the Morrissey exit. From the North, turn left on Fairmount (first stop sign), then right at the light onto Morrissey Avenue; or if from the South, turn left over the bridge onto Morrissey. Continue on Morrissey, take a left at the intersection of Morrissey and Soquel Ave. Take a right at the stoplight onto Frederick Street. Less than half a mile down, Star of the Sea Church will be on the right, at 515 Frederick Street. The parish hall is on the far side of the parking lot next to the street.
